Mica

Mica

Mica is a mineral material composed of fine leaves with metallic splinters. A mineral with its own identity and its color changes according to the properties of the soil from which it comes: the pink, also called Lepidolite, comes from Madagascar and the brown, Biotite, of Brazil.

This material leaves are so thin that the light passes through them and this allows the same mica to take on different aspects.

That is why the cabinetmaker likes to work it and rediscovers it at each of his assemblies.
In 1930 in France, the decorator Jean Michel Franck is the first to apply this mineral material on furniture.
