As a sculptor of noble materials, the artist craftsman creator Jérôme Cordié has always looked for a balance between matter and form, poetry and know-how, practice and aesthetic.
His style which is now a reference in the books on the history of furniture can be defined as one of elegant and pure lines, and the prevalence of natural materials: precious wood, petrified oak, shagreen, parchment, mica…
“The balance between forms is for me essential to creativity, he says. Each form is a force that evokes new emotions et nourishes a different feeling. I draw my inspiration from antique architecture, Greek mythology and the art of the far east, and diversify the natural balance between forms.”
Thanks to sacred geometry, Jérôme Cordié invents a new dialogue between space and his pieces of furniture which creates harmony and well-being. Through the years, he has surrounded himself with co artists of great talent. Collectors will certainly appreciate to their real value Jean Etienne Azéma for sculptures and bronze, Anne Lopes for calligraphies on parchment, Marie de la Roussière for oriental decors on lacquer, and Carole Crevecoeur for pure steel.
Today, after thirty years of creation, the artist craftsman creator Jérôme Cordié occupies a place of choice in contemporary furniture.
